Work at Home - How you should organise you day.

Working from Home needs organising.

Many people think that if you work from home it makes things easier and as you are not commuting too and from work you will have more time for your business. This can be achieved, but believe me when I say it does take alot of planning and organisation. It is very easy to be sidetracked. To make a coffee when you want, but then notice the dirty dishes from breakfast, or the floor needs a mop ran over it for example.

The best part of being able to work from home is that you can and should decide when to work. But make sure that you do set yourself a schedule of jobs to be completed when you do decide to work. Make sure that you complete these tasks everyday. It is very easy to slack and get behind with your goals.

You will also find it very beneficial if you have, if not a purpose made office, but at least a place where you can hide away and work in peace and quiet. Not sitting on the sofa with the television blasting in the background.

Of course you could sit there all day long in your dressing gown drinking your morning coffee, but it does not get you in the productive frame of mind. Try and work at home the same as if you were actually working for someone else. Get dressed, make yourself presentable and complete your daily objectives. Treat your home business as though you have injected a very large amount of cash and your productivity is all that stands between you growing that money of losing the lot.

Organisation is the key.

Take it from me this is essential. I am a work at home mum of 3, the youngest being only just 3 years of age. It can be very disruptive and the time slots you have during the day have to be used with the necessary tasks.

Contributor's Note

I will usually write about my own experiences, either of life in general or about working from home. How to build your business, the trial and tribulations of building your own home business. Of course, I may throw in the odd ball of something totally different, just because something has picked my interest. I hope you enjoy. Lisa
